Start with the engineering decision
Write down the specific grades or grade direction under review, not just the family names. Then identify the technical properties, density range, temperature context, thickness, core form and documentation that matter to the component. A comparison table that omits these controls often creates a false equivalence.
Translate the component into a controlled core brief
Check whether the component is flat, curved, highly featured, thin, thick or shaped around interfaces. Geometry affects the starting form, CNC discussion, handling and inspection path. It can be more decisive than a single property field extracted from a generic data sheet.
Connect the material question to the process route
Compare the actual process route, laminate system, tooling, pressure or vacuum conditions, temperature profile, bonding needs and post-process operations. The material choice should follow verified grade documents and the part workflow. Do not transplant third-party values from an unrelated process into a CoreMatrix project claim.
Keep technical evidence within its stated boundary
Commercial factors should be requested through a scoped RFQ after the technical comparison is clear. Price, minimum quantity, delivery, availability and packing are not universal material properties. Keep those questions separate from the engineering evidence so the decision remains auditable.
