Identify the component within the airframe
A UAV-related project may involve a wing element, shell, fairing-like part, internal support or another sandwich detail. The component’s geometry, face-sheet concept, thickness and interfaces determine the core question. Use core geometry to organize preparation
Curves, tapered sections, local reliefs, holes, grooves and connection areas should be reviewed from the controlled drawing. This determines whether the core is better discussed as a flat sheet, block, formed concept or CNC-prepared geometry. The finished core should be planned around the next laminate, mould or assembly operation.
